Volunteer with Classes and Reunions

Alumni Reunion Weekend wouldn’t happen each June without the support of reunion volunteers for each of the returning classes.

Reunion volunteers are very important in planning and executing a successful reunion weekend. An important responsibility as a member of the reunion committee is to help DePauw make personal contact with your classmates, in order to see as many of them as possible return for their reunion. It has been proven that personal contact can significantly impact whether or not classmates will return for the reunion.

Reunion class volunteers are responsible for the fundraising efforts of the reunion class as well as planning the social aspects of the weekend. These volunteers work closely with University staff to plan all aspects of the weekend. Responsibilities include:

  • Communicating with the class via class letters, e-mail, etc., as well as maintain communication throughout the year with the staff liaisons from the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving offices.
  • Helping coordinate event planning with the Office of Alumni Engagement, such as making decisions regarding social logistics for your class dinner.
  • Setting reunion program goals for dollars, donors, and reunion attendees in conjunction with your Annual Giving staff liaisons.
  • Developing a solicitation program to target and solicit special increased reunion gifts and determine and implement a giving challenge if applicable.
