Lee, Mourouzis lead DePauw's all-SCAC selections
Junior quarterback Jason Lee has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year and head coach Nick Mourouzis was selected as the Coach of the Year. The Tigers shared the SCAC title this season with Trinity and Sewanee.

Lee was second in the conference in pass efficiency, passing yads per game and total offense per game. His 2,194 passing yards this year is the fifth-highest in SCAC history for a season and he set conference single-game records for completions (41) and attempts (72) against NCAA playoff participant Hope College. 

Mourouzis earned his third coach of the year honor in the 12 years that DePauw has been competing in a conference since he took over the program in 1981. He has a 121-74-4 overall record and his 121 wins ranks 15th among active Division III coaches.

Other Tigers earning first team honors included tight end Neville Grant and receivers Joe Schoen and Dan Ryan. Frisky Williams was named to the first team on defense. 

Tigers score 18 straight to claim fifth straight Monon win; claim share of SCAC title with Trinity loss
As they had done all year, the Tigers came from behind in the fourth quarter to win as they defeated host Wabash College in the annual Monon Bell game, 27-17. DePauw scored 18 straight points in the final 6:51 to erase a 17-9 Wabash lead and win their fifth straight Monon Bell. The Tigers also claimed a share of their first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title as Trinity lost at Millsaps. Tigers win fifth straight; Schoen sets season reception record
The DePauw defense limited visiting Rose-Hulman to just 155 yards of offense and only 23 on the ground on the way to a 10-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win. With eight catches, senior Joe Schoen improved his season total to 66 and broke the DePauw record of 65 set by Jay True in 1978. Game Story | Statistics | Pre-game notes

Tigers hold on to win fourth straight
After opening the season with four losses by a total of 18 points, the Tigers made it all the way back to .500 with their fourth straight win as they defeated host Centre College, 30-23, in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest. Jacquet named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week
Junior tackle Alson Jacquet was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his performance in the Tigers' 14-13 win at Millsaps. In that game Jacquet recorded seven tackles with six going for losses of 24 yards including three sacks for 19 yards. He led the DePauw defense that limited the Majors to minus seven yards rushing for the game and only 59 yards of offense in the second half.

Tigers win second straight with 48-7 victory over Blackburn
After five straight games decided by six or fewer points, the Tigers left little doubt in Saturday's non-conference game at Blackburn College as they defeated the host Beavers 48-7 to improve to 2-4. Tigers hold on for 19-16 win over Sewanee
Freshman David Blackburn's interception in the end zone with just 28 seconds left preserved DePauw's first victory of the season and handed visiting Sewanee its first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference loss. Lee named Football Gazette Co-Offensive Player of the Week
For the second straight week, junior quarterback Jason Lee has garnered national player of the week honors from Don Hansen's Football Gazette. In a 30-26 loss to second-ranked Trinity, Lee completed 21of 39 passes for 296 yards and four touchdown with no interceptions.

Tigers lose to second-ranked Trinity, 30-26
Three second-half Trinity touchdowns and a nearly seven-minute game-ending drive erased DePauw's 13-10 halftime lead and sent the Tigers to their fourth straight defeat, 30-26.

DePauw held a 13-10 halftime lead against the team that is ranked as high as second and no lower than fifth in Division III national polls, but an early-second half score gave Trinity the lead for good and a fake field goal attempt that went for a touchdown just minutes later gave the visitors a 23-13 lead which they never relinquished. Lee earns national honors; named SCAC Player of the Week
Junior quarterback Jason Lee was one of three players named Division III Offensive Player of the Week according to Football Gazette and he was also selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week. Additionally, he earned Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors after his record-setting performance in a 30-24 overtime loss to Hope. Lee set school and SCAC records with 41 pass completions and 72 attempts and school records with 486 passing yards, 79 plays and 462 yards of total offense.

Tigers rally from 17 down in fourth, but lose in overtime
For the second straight week, the Tigers rallied in the fourth quarter to tie the game, but for the second consecutive week they lost on the game's final play. This time it came in overtime as they fell to Hope, 30-24. Jason Lee set school records with 41 completions, 72 pass attempts, 486 passing yards, 79 plays and 462 total offense yards. His 72 pass attempts equaled the fourth-highest total in Division III history and his 41 completions equaled the 13th-most.  Story | Game stats

Game-ending field goal ends Tigers' fourth-quarter comeback
Hanover's B.J. Black booted a 22-yard field goal to end the Tigers' fourth-quarter comeback and give the visiting Panthers a 24-21 win at Blackstock Stadium. STORY | STATS

Tiger Football Team Picked Third in SCAC; Five Players Named Preseason All-Conference
DePauw picked up 33 points including one first-place vote to finish third in the SCAC preseason coaches poll. DePauw finished behind Trinity which had six first-place votes and 48 points and Rhodes which totaled 37 points. Sewanee, Centre, Rose-Hulman and Millsaps round out spots four through seven. 

Individually, defensive end Frisky Williams  shared preseason defensive player of the year honors with Centre defensive back Eric Heyman and Trinity linebacker John Paul Visosky. Other DePauw players making the preseason all-conference squad included junior defensive end Alson Jacquet, junior linebacker Jason Geringer, senior center Josh Buis and senior wide receiver Joe Schoen. The Tigers scrimmage Butler at 10 a.m. Saturday at Blackstock and travel to Rhodes on September 2.

Phelps and Walker Join DePauw Staff
The Tiger coaching staff added Jeff Phelps and Matt Walker to its ranks. Phelps, who will also serve as coordinator of special projects for student services, will coach the running backs. He was a four-year starter at Ball State and was a graduate assistant there last year. Walker, the interim head baseball coach at DePauw, will coach the wide receivers. The 1999 DePauw graduate was a three-year player for the Tigers at quarterback.

Tigers Add Two Coaches to Staff
DePauw University Director of Athletics Page Cotton has announced two additions to the athletic department staff. Jeff McMartin is the University's new assistant football and track coach, while Neil Kazmierczak has been named an assistant football coach and strength and conditioning coordinator for the University.
