Tigers Add Two Coaches to Athletic Staff

Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw University Director of Athletics Page Cotton has announced two additions to the athletic department staff. Jeff McMartin is the University’s new assistant football and track coach, while Neil Kazmierczak has been named an assistant football coach and strength and conditioning coordinator for the University.

McMartin, a 1990 Central (Iowa) College graduate, will serve as the offensive coordinator for the Tiger football team and coach the offensive line. Since 1995, McMartin has served as offensive line coach and head track and field coach at Beloit (Wis.) College. Prior to that he served as an assistant football and track coach at the University of Rochester (N.Y.) and Illinois Wesleyan University and was a graduate assistant football coach at Wake Forest (N.C.) University.

Kazmierczak, a 1988 Michigan State University graduate, will serve as the defensive coordinator and coach the linebackers. After serving as head football coach for three seasons at Oxnard (Calif.) High School, Kazmierczak moved on to Stanford (Calif.) University where he served as the assistant strength coach for one season and as a graduate assistant football coach from 1996-98. He then moved to Japan where he was the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for the 1998 Japanese National Collegiate champion team. Last year, he served as linebackers coach for Division I St. Mary’s (Calif.) College.

“We feel very fortunate to hire two coaches with the qualifications that Jeff and Neil have,” Cotton said. “The experience they bring makes them a very good fit with our current staff.”
