FRED C. TUCKER '08

Inducted: 1986

Coming from the tiny Illinois community of Hume, Fred Tucker earned 11 major athletic letters at DePauw and captained the football, baseball and track teams during his senior year. That is probably a feat unduplicated in the annals of DePauw sports history. He gained All-State recognition at end in football and in the years of 1907 and 1908 he gained All-American honorable mention in football. After his graduation he taught in secondary schools in St. Louis and Memphis, then returned to Indianapolis in 1918 to found the F.C. Tucker Company, now Indiana's largest real estate and development company.
