2000 Nixon Named SCAC Player of the Week for Second Time
In the two games, the 6-4 forward averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and connected on 13 of 18 field goals and all six free throw tries. Nixon scored 14 points in 25 minutes against Hendrix including a crucial three-pointer with just over two minutes left to boost DePauw's lead to four. He came off the bench to score 20 points in 17 minutes in the win over Rhodes. In that game he hit seven of eight field goal tries and all five free throws.
Nixon leads the Tigers this season with 16.1 points per game and is second with 6.2 rebounds. He leads the SCAC in field goal shooting at 57.0 percent and is second in free throw shooting at 89.5 percent.
DePauw, 11-2 on the season, is in first place in the SCAC with a 5-1 conference mark. The Tigers are off to their best start since the 1987-88 season DePauw travels to Texas this weekend to face Southwestern University and Trinity University. |
