WESTERVILLE, OHIO-- The DePauw men's golf team shot the
10th best score of any school in Friday's fourth and final round
and finished tied for 14th place at the NCAA Division III Men's
Golf Championships. The Tigers shot a 313 to finish at
Junior E.P. Scherer (Louisville, Ky./Ballard) led the
Tigers with a 310 which was good for a tie for 24th. Scherer shot
a 76 on Friday. Senior Jeremy Hopple (Sylvania, Ohio/St.
John's) finished in a tie for 65th with a 323, while sop
Methodist College (N.C.) won for the fourth straight year by
firing a four-round score of 1191. Greensboro was second at 1226
and host Otterbein third at 1230. Individually, Brion MacLaughlin
of Methodist won by one stroke over teammate Mike Adams
DePauw's appearance was their ninth consecutive trip to the Division III Championships.
