Tigers
finish 13th with strong final day
DePauw finished 13th at the NCAA Division III Championships in
Buffalo, N.Y., after a solid final day of competition. Dan Garrison
earned all-America honors by finishing fifth in the 100 free in 46.29
seconds. Clint Troxel was 12th in the 200 butterfly in 1:53.51 to earn
and the 400 free relay of Josh Heisler, Todd Darlington, Elliott
Mueller and Garrison placed 12th in 3:08.12 to earn honorable mention
all-America.

Tigers earns
spots in Saturday finals
Dan Garrison placed eighth in prelims in the 100 free with a time of
46.36 seconds to qualify for the championship finals, while Clint
Troxel was 11th in the 200 fly in prelims in 1:53.58 and will swim in
the consolation finals. The 400 free relay placed 11th in prelims in
3:08.14.
Moch earns
all-America honors on both boards
Diver Nate Moch earned honorable mention all-America distinction at
the NCAA Division III Championships with a 12th place finish on the
three-meter boards with 363.5 points and a 14th place showing on the
one-meter board with 338.35 points.

all-America honors for Tigers on Friday
Dan Garrison and Clint Troxel earned honorable mention all-America
honors in the 100 butterfly on day two of the NCAA Division III
Championships. Garrison finished 14th in 50.94 seconds and Troxel was
16th in 51.62. The 800 free relay of Garrison, Josh Heisler, Troxel
and Todd Darlington finished 15th in 7:01.87 to take honorable mention
all-America as well. Garrison's leadoff swim of 1:42.40 broke the
school record in the 200 free which was the oldest swimming record at
DePauw (held by Dave Carlson in 1991).
Two relays
earn all-America honorable mention
Both the 400 medley and 200 free relays finished in the top 16 in
finals during the first day of competition at the NCAA Division III
Championships in Buffalo. The medley relay of Dan Garrison, Elliott
Mueller, Clint Troxel and Josh Heisler finished 11th in 3:27.81.
The freestyle relay of Heisler, Andrew Cornett, Mueller and Garrison
finished 14th in 1:25.35. Dan Garrison's anchor of the 200 free relay
in prelims was the
second fastest 50-yard split during the event and his leadoff swim in
the 400 medley relay set a school record in both the prelims and

Tigers set
for NCAA Championships
A record seven DePauw student-athletes will be competing at the NCAA
Division III Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., March 15-17. Competing
for the Tigers are swimmers Andrew Cornett, Todd Darlington, Dan
Garrison, Josh Heisler, Elliott Mueller and Clint Troxel and diver

DePauw finishes regular
season with 7-2 record after loss at Wabash
The Tigers concluded the regular season with a 165-135 loss at
Wabash to finish with a 7-2 dual meet record. DePauw set several pool
records including: Dan Troxel (200 fly, 1:55.38); Nate Moch (One-meter
diving, 277.30); Dan Garrison (100 free, 46.74; 100 fly, 51.69) and
the 400 free relay (Mueller, Darlington, Heisler, Garrison; 3:11.24).

Tigers just miss
repeating as SCAC champions
In a heartbreaking conclusion to the Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference Championships, DePauw finished second to host Trinity
University by just 10.5 points. Trinity led by just 0.5 points heading
into the final event- the 400 free relay. DePauw totaled 48 points,
but Trinity finished with 58 in the event to take the 10.5-point
margin. The meet included a record-number of national provisional
qualifying swims for the Tigers. Additionally, sophomore Nate Moch was
named the SCAC Diver of the Year for the second straight year. More

DePauw tops
Rose-Hulman and Vincennes; SCAC title defense next step
The Tigers easily defeated Rose-Hulman and Vincennes in the final
home dual meet of the season. DePauw won over Rose-Hulman 231-62 and
over Vincennes 189-101

DePauw is ranked eighth among Division III schools in the latest

finishes third at Washington Invitational
The Tigers placed third out of nine teams at the Washington (Mo.)
University Invitational. Senior Dan Garrison, DePauw's all-time
leading scorer, topped the 2,000-point plateau at the meet.

Wesleyan 171-67
The Tigers improved to 5-1on the season with a 171-67 win over
host Illinois Wesleyan.

Moch, Schoff
finish 1-2 at Wabash Diving Invitational
Nate Moch and Bret Schoff led the Tigers at the Wabash College
Diving Classic by finishing first and second, respectively, in one-
and three-meter diving. Moch won the three-meter competition with
428.6 points which was less than 12 points from meeting the NCAA
Championship qualification. Schoff was second with a score of 380.3.
Moch won the one-meter with 416.5 points followed by Schoff at 410.3.
Glen McCain was fifth in three-meter at 336.45 and sixth on the
one-meter board with 332.25 points, while Wilson Villafana placed
ninth in three-meter with 185.6 points and eighth in one-meter with
274.
DePauw wins
Wabash Invitational for first time in school history
For the first time in program history the Tigers won the Wabash
Invitational as they finished with 459 points to the Little Giants'
455. More details later.

Tigers defeat Wheaton; Moch qualifies provisionally for NCAA
Championships
DePauw improved to 4-1 on the season with a 124-113 victory over
visiting Wheaton College. Nate Moch took firsts on both the one- and
three-meter boards and qualified provisionally for the NCAA
Championships on the three-meter with a score of 289.95. Josh Heisler
took firsts in both the 50 free (22.19) and the 100 free (48.68) and
Dan Garrison won the 100 butterfly in 52.76. The Tigers' 200 free
relay won in a time of 1:27.28.

Tigers defeat Sewanee to improve to 3-1
DePauw won both relays and finished first in seven individual events
on the way to a 141-93 win at Sewanee. Dan Garrison picked up a pair
of firsts in the 100 freestyle (48.23) and the 50 free (22.11) as did
Nate Moch in diving with scores of 255.5 in three-meter and 255.15 on
the one-meter board. Other winners included Clint Troxel (200
butterfly; 2:06.25), Elliott Mueller (200 backstroke; 2:04.14) and
Landon Williams (500 free; 5:05.78). The 400 medley relay won in
3:44.16 as did the 400 free relay in 3:22.32.

DePauw improves to 2-1 with 173-54 victory at Transylvania
The Tigers took firsts in all but two events on the way to a 173-54
win at Transylvania to improve to 2-1 on the season. Nate Moch won
both the one- and three-meter diving with scores of 230.95 and 239.4,
while Clint Troxel won both the 200 freestyle (1:52.23) and the 100
backstroke (58.61). Other winners included Todd Darlington (1000 free;
11:05.42), Elliott Mueller (50 free; 22.69), Dan Garrison (100
butterfly; 52.9), Josh Heisler (100 free; 50.39) and Andrew Cornett
(500 free; 5:25.66). The 200 medley relay was victorious in 1:42.01
and the 200 free relay won in 1:32.33.

Tigers open 2000-01 season
with split
DePauw opened the year at the University of Indianapolis and defeated
the host Greyhounds 170.5-116.5. They fell to Washington (Mo.)
University 151.5-143.5. All-American Dan Garrison was a double-winner
in the 200 free (1:48.48) and the 100 butterfly (52.79). Nate Moch won
the three-meter diving (220.20 points) as the Tigers took the top
three spots. Josh Heisler won the 50 free in 22.15 seconds. The Tigers
also won the 200 free relay in 1:28.60.
