Tigers ranked 24th in final poll;
Kuresman ranked in singles
DePauw finished the season ranked
24th in the final NCAA Division III poll by the
Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The Tigers also finished seventh in the Central Region. Marshall Kuresman
was ranked 18th in the nation in singles and fifth in the region.

Kuresman falls in three sets in NCAA
first-round match
Sophomore Marshall Kuresman
opened play in the NCAA Division III Singles Championship at Gustavus
Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn., with a three-set loss to Connor
Smith of Mary Washington. Kuresman won the first set 6-4 before dropping
the second 6-4 and the third 6-1. He finished the season with a 20-10
singles record.

DePauw sophomore Marshall
Kuresman has been named the Central Region's Player to Watch by the
Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Kuresman played number one singles for the Tigers and posted a 20-9
record.

Kuresman earns trip to NCAA
Championships
Sophomore Marshall Kuresman has
earned a spot in the 32-player singles field for the NCAA Division III
Championships at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. Kuresman
posted a 20-9 record at number one singles for the Tigers. NCAA singles
competition begins on Saturday, May 17.

Tigers fall to Bears in NCAA First
Round Match
DePauw closed out the dual match
portion of the schedule with a 6-1 loss at Washington (Mo.) in the first
round of the NCAA Division III Championships. The Tigers finished the
season with a 14-11 record.

Championship field
The Tigers, ranked 19th in
Division III, have been selected to
the 27-team field for the NCAA Division III Championships and open play on
Saturday, May 3, against regional host and 11th-ranked Washington (Mo.) University at
9:30 a.m. Kenyon, ranked 15th in Division III, and
17th-ranked Kalamazoo square off in the other
first-round match with the winners meeting on Sunday, May 4, for the right
to advance to the national quarterfinals at Gustavus Adolphus College in
St. Peter, Minn.

Tigers fall to Trinity in SCAC title

DePauw finished second at the
Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship after a 5-2 loss to
Trinity. Marshall Kuresman and Darren Eblovi picked up wins for the Tigers
at first and third singles, respectively. DePauw slipped to 14-10 on the
season and now awaits a possible NCAA Championship bid.

DePauw advances to SCAC Championship
match with win over Sewanee
The Tigers improved to 13-9 on
the season and advanced to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference
Championship match with a 4-3 win over Sewanee in the semifinals. The
Tigers will face Trinity on Sunday at 9 a.m. at Rose-Hulman. After
dropping the doubles point, DePauw came back to win at first, second,
fifth and sixth singles to take the victory. The match came down to number
one singles where Marhsall Kuresman won 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (4). Five of the six
singles matches were decided in three sets.

Tigers open SCAC play with win over Rose-Hulman
DePauw began play in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference
Championship with a 4-0 win over Rose-Hulman. The Tigers advanced to the
semifinals where they will face Sewanee at 9 a.m. at Terre Haute's Rea

DePauw seeded second in upcoming SCAC Championship
The Tigers have earned the number-two seed at the Southern Collegiate
Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Rose-Hulman. DePauw opens play
at 2 p.m. at Terre Haute South High School on Friday, April 25 against the
winner of that morning's Oglethorpe-Rose-Hulman match.

Tigers improve to 10-9 with win over Indianapolis
DePauw improved its record to 10-9 with a 4-3 win over visiting
University of Indianapolis. The Greyhounds won the doubles point with
victories at the first and third slots, but the Tigers came back in
singles to win at numbers two through five for the victory.

Tigers finish third at GLCA Championships
DePauw, ranked 15th in Division III, improved to 9-9 on the season with
a 2-1 record and a third-place finish at the Great Lakes Colleges
Association Championship hosted by Hope College. The Tigers defeated Ohio
Wesleyan 7-0 before falling to Kenyon by a 5-2 score in the semifinals.
They then knocked off Hope 4-3 in the third-place match.

Match with Wisconsin-Oshkosh canceled
The match with Wisconsin-Oshkosh scheduled for April 6 was canceled due
to winter weather that prevented Wisconsin-Oshkosh from making the trip.

DePauw falls to Coe, 5-2
DePauw, ranked 15th in Division III, dropped a 5-2 decision to
21st-ranked Coe at the DePauw Indoor Tennis and Track Center. The loss
drops DePauw to 7-8 on the season.

Tigers blank Wabash 7-0
The 15th-ranked Tigers lost just one game in doubles competition and
the at all six singles flights in straight sets on the way to a 7-0 win
over visiting Wabash. DePauw evened its record to 7-7 on the season.

15th-ranked Tigers finish spring trip with two more wins
DePauw, ranked 15th in Division III, finished the spring trip with a
2-1 record in matches at Hilton Head. The Tigers lost to MIT by a 4-3
score before blanking Luther and Carnegie Mellon by 7-0 scores. Complete

III, fell to 4-6 on the season with a 7-0 loss at second-ranked Emory.

DePauw, ranked 15th in Division III, opened the weekend with a 6-3 win
over Missouri-St. Louis and then fell to Washington (Mo.) by a 7-0 count.

15th-ranked Tigers drop close decision at 10th-ranked Kalamazoo
Host Kalamazoo won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point
and then split the six singles matches to defeat DePauw 4-3. Marshall
Kuresman, Greg Nammari and Billy Elliott picked up wins at first, second
and fourth singles, respectively.

DePauw drops spring opener at Xavier
The Tigers lost the first match of the spring by a 7-0 score at Xavier
(Ohio). Each of the six singles matches were decided in two sets except
for number-three singles where Aaron Gress took Justin Yeager to three
sets.

In the final rankings of the fall, the Tigers are ranked 15th in
Division III by the
Intercollegiate
Tennis Association. Individually, Marshall Kuresman is ranked 28th in
singles.
Omni Hotels Regional
Championships
Wittenberg's Casey Clagett defeated Principia's Ben Crandell 7-5,
4-6, 6-2 in the singles championship match of the 2002 Omni Hotels/ITA
Central Region Championship. In doubles play, it was an all-Washington
(Mo.) University final as the team of Neil Kenner and Ari Rosenthal
defeated Max Schlather and Shaul Yecheskel 7-5, 6-7(2), 6-3.
