October 16, 2009, Colorado Springs, Colo. — The Tigers improved to 21-5 overall and 7-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference following a pair of wins at the SCAC Divisional.
DePauw opened with a 3-1 (25-15, 21-25, 25-20, 25-20) win over Austin before topping 15th-ranked Trinity, 3-2 (25-22, 18-25, 19-25, 25-23, 15-12).
Kristen Chynoweth led DePauw with 12 kills and six blocks in the win over Austin, while Ali Smith totaled 41 assists. Kyle Lerhman led with 19 digs, while Abby Balbach had two service aces. Katey Larson had 18 kills, while Katie Petrovich hit .367 in the Trinity win. Smith totaled 53 assists with Madison Hoenig leading with 26 digs and Chynoweth finishing with seven blocks.
The Tigers face 13th-ranked Southwestern and Sewanee in Saturday's matches.
