November 7, 2009, Conway, Ark. — DePauw improved to 12-7 on the season and advanced to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Hockey Championship game following a 2-0 semifinal win over Centre.
The Colonels dropped to 12-5 with the loss. The Tigers face Rhodes in Sunday's 11 a.m. CST title game. Rhodes defeated Sewanee, 2-1, in overtime in the other semifinal contest.
Addie McDonnell scored the Tigers' first goal at 25:51 before Sarah Riffle scored on Kimberly Trainor's assist at 59:21.
DePauw held a 10-6 advantage in shots and 9-4 in penalty corners. Liz Attewell recorded four saves in the shutout, while Patty Cowley had six for Centre.
