February 22, 2008, Sewanee, Tenn. - Visiting DePauw scored the first nine points of the second half to extend a six-point lead to 15 and the lead stayed in double digits as the Tigers picked up a 66-51 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win at Sewanee.
DePauw improved to 19-5 overall and 10-3 in the SCAC, while Sewanee dropped to 7-17 overall and 1-12 in the conference.
The Tigers jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the opening five minutes of the contest and never trailed as Sewanee got no closer than four the rest of the half.
Brian Oilar led the Tigers with 21 points and nine rebounds, while Stephen Schott added 11 points and seven boards. Mike Moore dished out 10 assists in the win.
Gray Grizzle was the lone double-figure scorer for Sewanee with 12, while Ben Pursell grabed seven rebounds.
DePauw shot 50 percent from the floor to Sewanee's 34.6 percent and the visiting Tigers held a 40-32 edge on the boards.
The Tigers travel to Oglethorpe for a 2 p.m. contest on Sunday. At stake is the SCAC Eastern Division's number-two seed.
