May 2, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - Kenyon advanced to the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship second round following a 5-0 first-round win over Manchester. The 26th-ranked Ladies face eighth-ranked DePauw at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Kenyon won all three doubles matches as Eva Ceja and Molly Yost topped Danielle Walker and Nikki Ferguson at the number-three spot by an 8-1 score and Prita Kidder and Meredith Brown defeated Milagros Ridoutt and Sarah Conwell, 8-5, at number one. Alexis Marino and Paige MacDonald closed out the doubles with an 8-6 victory over Christa Hunter and Jourdin Youst.
Singles play was moved inside due to thunderstorms in the area and Kenyon closed out the match with wins at number five and six singles. Marion topped Walker by a 6-0, 6-1 score at number five and Yost was a 6-1, 6-0 victor at number six.
Kenyon improved to 16-5 with the win, while Manchester finished its season at 10-4.
