September 10, 2008, Louisville, Ky. - Sarah Riffle scored a pair of goals in the decisive second half as DePauw topped Bellarmine, 4-1. The Tigers improved to 2-1 on the season, while the Knights dropped to 4-3.
Mallory Brake gave Bellarmine the early lead with an assist from Sarah Flood at 6:23 before Morgan Busam knotted the contest at 1-1 on Alyssa Collin's assist at 10:47.
Riffle then scored the eventual game-winner at 45:47 on Carolyn Mueller's assist. She added an unassisted score at 49:18 before Mueller wrapped up the scoring with an unassisted tally at 57:42.
DePauw outshot Bellarmine 15-8 and held a 10-9 edge in penalty corners. Liz Attewell totaled six saves for the Tigers, while Kristina Thomas totaled eight for the Knights.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, September 13, when they open Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play at Centre. The contest is set for 11 a.m.
