September 13, 2008, Danville, Ky. - Beth Seegers scored a hat trick and helped the Tigers to a 4-2 win in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for both teams. DePauw improved to 3-1, while Centre dropped to 3-2.
The Colonels took a 1-0 lead just 5:12 into the contest when Beth Faulkner scored, unassisted, but the Tigers tied the game at 1-1 on Seegers' first goal with Carolyn Mueller collecting the assist at 19:07. Sarah Riffle's unassisted goal with 2:32 left in the half gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead.
Seegers made it 3-1 at 42:13, but Centre answered at 59:47 on Rachel Watkins' goal with Faulkner assisting. Seegers then added the insurance goal with 3:15 left.
Centre outshot the Tigers 16-12 and held a 9-8 edge in corners. DePauw's Liz Attewell totaled nine saves, while Centre's Patty Cowley finished with three.
DePauw travels to Lindenwood on Friday, September 19, before hosting Hendrix on Sunday, September 21.
