September 29, 2008, Oberlin, Ohio - DePauw competed at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region Tournament and was represented in both the singles and doubles finals.
Janelle Arita (pictured left with head coach Scott Riggle), seeded second in the 64-player singles tournament, won five matches to advance to the singles finals.
She defeated Chicago's Kendra Higgins by a 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) score in the semifinals before Jennifer Kung of Chicago defeated her 6-0, 6-2.
Greer Mackie and Kayla Smith (pictured right) won four matches to reach the doubles finals including a 6-1, 6-3 semifinal win over Higgins and Vindya Dayananda of Chicago.
In the finals, Denison's Kristen Cobb and Marta Drane defeated the Tigers' duo 6-2, 5-7, 6-4.
