The Tigers are 5-7-2 overall and 3-3 in SCAC play, while Austin improved to 8-6 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
Austin's Shelley Casey scored the game's lone goal at 50:11 on an assist from Helen Heres.
Both teams totaled 16 shots with DePauw holding a 4-2 edge in corners. DePauw's Lauren Palfrey finished with nine saves and Kaitlin Elledge totaled six for the Kangaroos.
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, October 25, at Centre.
