November 22, 2008, St. Louis, Mo. - The third-ranked Tigers evened their record at 1-1 after finishing third at the Washington-St. Louis Tipoff Tournament following a 75-57 win over Central. The Dutch dropped to 1-2 with the loss.
Central held a 17-15 lead midway through the first half before the Tigers put together a 14-3 run on the way to a 38-33 halftime lead.
DePauw quickly extended the lead to 55-38 in the opening five minutes of the second half and Central got no closer than 14 the rest of the way.
Katie Aldrich (pictured) led DePauw with 20 points, while Katie Mathews followed with 16 and Brianna Frigerio added 10. Emily Marshall grabbed nine rebounds, while Cassie Pruzin led the way with six assists and four steals.
With a second half basket, Pruzin became just the 11th player in DePauw women's history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
Laura Porter led Central with 14 points, while Sarah Paulson added 12. Andrea Clark grabbed nine rebounds as the Dutch held a 43-41 edge on the boards.
DePauw shot 39.7 percent from the floor to Central's 40.0 percent, but the Tigers committed just 13 turnovers to the Dutch's 27.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, November 25, when they host Anderson at 7 p.m.
