March 25, 2009, Hilton Head Island, S.C. — The 16th-ranked Tigers dropped to 6-5 on the season following a 6-3 loss to fourth-ranked University of Chicago. The Maroons improved to 7-2
Chicago took a 2-1 lead after taking wins at first and third doubles. DePauw's lone win in doubles came at the number two spot where Janelle Arita and Kelly Gebert defeated Tiffany Nguyen and Carmen Vaca, 8-6.
Arita claimed a three-set win over Jennifer Kung at number one singles by a 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-1 score, while Kristine Lewry picked up the other point at fifth singles with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-0 win over Nguyen. Two of the Tigers' four singles losses were in three sets.
DePauw wraps up play on Hilton Head Island with a Thursday morning match against Erskine.
