September 11, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Centre's Rachel Watkins scored just 6:10 into the second half on an assist from Jessica McLean and lifted the visiting Colonels to a 1-0 win over DePauw in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for both teams. DePauw dropped to 2-2 with the loss, while the Colonels improved to 3-0.
Centre outshot the Tigers 4-3 and held a 10-5 edge in penalty corners. Liz Attewell totaled three saves in goal for DePauw, while Patty Cowley had three for the Colonels.
DePauw returns to action on Sunday, September 13, when it hosts Transylvania at 1 p.m.
