October 4, 2009, Memphis, Tenn. — DePauw improved to 17-5 overall and 5-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference after winning both of its Sunday matches at the SCAC's Central/East Divisional.
The Tigers opened play with a 3-0 win over Hendrix (25-9, 25-18, 25-10) before blanking Oglethorpe 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-12).
In the win over Hendrix Katey Larson led with 12 kills, while Ali Smith totaled 31 assists and Madison Hoenig had 18 digs. Larson paced the squad with two aces with Kristen Chynoweth, Smith and Abby Balbach each adding two blocks.
Larson and Chynoweth each had seven kills against Oglethorpe with Smith leading the way with 29 assists. Hoenig had 10 digs, while Kylee Lehrman recorded four aces. Four different Tigers had two blocks each.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday when they host Anderson at 7 p.m. The match is part of DePauw's Dig Pink Night.
