October 10, 2009, Danville, Ky. — In a battle between two of the three schools tied for first in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference field hockey standings, host Centre topped DePauw, 1-0.
The Tigers dropped to 7-5 overall and 3-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, while Centre improved to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the SCAC.
Rachel Watkins scored the game's lone goal at 33:00. Centre held a 16-5 advantage in shots as well as a 16-5 margin in penalty corners.
Liz Attewell recorded two saves for DePauw, while Patty Cowley had two in recording the shutout for Centre.
DePauw travels to Transylvania on Sunday.
