October 12, 2009, Terre Haute, Ind. — The Tigers improved to 19-5 on the season following a 3-2 win at Rose-Hulman. The Engineers dropped to 16-6 with the loss.
DePauw won the first set by a 25-18 count before Rose-Hulman took a 2-1 lead after winning the second and third sets, 25-22 and 25-20, respectively. DePauw forced the fifth set by winning the fourth by a 25-20 score and then won the match with a 16-14 win in the fifth set.
Katie Petrovich and Kristen Chynoweth recorded 16 killsa each, while Katey Larson had 14. Ali Smith led with 63 assists, while Chynoweth and Madison Hoenig each finished with two aces. Hoenig led the defensive effort with 29 digs with Chynoweth totaling four blocks.
DePauw returns to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action this weekend with a divisional hosted by Colorado College.
