October 27, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Just as they did following the October 3 win over Millsaps, DePauw strong safety Thomas Wrona and kicker Jordan Havercamp have been named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Players of the Week for their performances in Saturday's 26-18 win over Trinity. Wrona (left) was a defensive selection, while Havercamp (right) earned special teams honors.
Wrona tallied nine tackles including eight solos and a team-high three for loss. He also notched a pass breakup in the win. Wrona spearheaded a defensive attack which held Trinity to just 306 yards of offense.
Havercamp connected on field goals of 34 and 22 yards, hit 2-of-3 extra-point attempts and landed a punt (from a fake field goal attempt) at the Trinity 7. Additionally, he recorded a pair of tackles on two of his kickoffs.
The Tigers (5-1, 4-1 SCAC) travel to Birmingham-Southern on Saturday. That game can be heard live on WGRE (91.5 FM) with kickoff set for Noon CDT.
