
Bobby Jackson begins his fourth season as an assistant for the Tigers and will coach the defensive backs. Jackson also serves as special teams coordinator and is an assistant track and field coach.
Jackson graduated from the University of Illinois in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in history and was a four-year starting safety for the Illini. An all-Big Ten selection in 2001, Jackson served as team captain twice including his senior season when Illinois was the outright Big Ten champion and played in the 2002 Sugar Bowl.
He played professionally with NFL Europe’s Scottish Claymore in 2003 where he was the team’s special team’s captain. Jackson was also on the NFL rosters of the New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers. Most recently, he was an assistant coach at Champaign Central High School in Illinois.
Jackson, his wife Chequetta and son Devon (5) reside in suburban Indianapolis.
