
Kori Stoffregen came to DePauw in 1996 and has established the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs on a national level.
In 12 years at the helm, Stoffregen's teams have captured 24 cross country and track conference championships and he has earned conference coach of the year honors 23 times.
The DePauw men's and women's teams hold several Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference team records. The 2005 Tiger men's cross country team scored a SCAC record low score of 15 points.
The 2001 men's track team holds the SCAC record for most points scored in the conference meet (268) and largest margin of victory (118). The 2005 women's track team also holds the SCAC record for most points scored with 256.5 and largest margin of victory at 96.5. The Tiger track and field athletes have also rewritten the DePauw record books with over 200 indoor and outdoor track and field records.
Nationally, Stoffregen has coached DePauw student-athletes to 20 all-America awards including a national champion, Colin Smith, in the discus at the 1998 outdoor championships.
Stoffregen's cross country teams have qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships on six different occasions. The 2007 women's team finished seventh in Division III, while the 2004 men's and women's cross country teams were ranked eighth and 10th, respectively.
Stoffregen is also an instructor in the university's Kinesiology department. Among the courses he's taught are Swimming, Archery, Coaching Techniques II, Scientific Principles of Conditioning and Methonds of Teaching Rhythmic and Physical Activities.
Stoffregen is also the meet director for the DePauw Indoor track and field series. Annually over 3,000 youth, high school, and collegiate athletes compete at the James A. Hollensteiner Indoor Track. In 2003, Stoffregen was the meet director for the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by DePauw.
Stoffregen earned a bachelor of science degree from Wartburg College in 1989 and a master of arts from the University of Northern Iowa in 1998. While a student at Wartburg, Stoffregen earned NCAA Division III Cross Country All-America honors and was named the outstanding senior in physical education. In 2007 he was named Wartburg's Alumni Coach of the Year.
Stoffregen and his wife, Stacie, are the parents of daughters Alex and Seelye.
