DePauw men and Trinity women take SCAC titles

Final Team Scores | Top Individual Scorers

Both DePauw's men and Trinity's women held on in the final day of competition to take the team titles at the 2000 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. 

DePauw swept individual honors on the men's side with Dan Garrison earning Swimmer of the Year honors after posting wins in the 100 butterfly (50.05) and the 100 freestyle (46.10) and finishing second in the 50 freestyle (20.94). His time in the 100 fly was good for automatic qualification into the NCAA Division III Championships, while the other two surpassed NCAA "B" standards. He also swam on four relays that notched "B" cuts.

Nate Moch was named Diver of the Year on the men's side after earning wins on both the one- and three-meter boards. He totaled 409.75 points in one-meter competition and made the national qualifying standard on the three-meter board with 468.7 points.

Sewanee's Jane Harrison Chapman earned Swimmer of the Year honors on the women's side for the second straight year as she won took firsts in three individual events for the second straight year. Chapman won the 200 individual medley (2:09.02), 200 free (1:55.61) and the 100 free (52.98). Each was an NCAA "B" cut time and a meet record.

Trinity diver Caitlin McEatheron was named women's Diver of the Year after winning both the one- and three-meter competition. McEatheron posted national qualifying scores on both boards with 428.3 points on the three-meter and 371.8 on the one-meter.

DePauw's Adam Cohen was named men's Coach of the Year and Trinity's John Ryan earned women's Coach of the Year honors.
