Tigers win nightcap to earn ICAC doubleheader split
The Tigers broke out of a recent hitting slump in game two of an ICAC doubleheader
with Manchester and earn a split of the twinbill. The Tigers dropped the
first game 11-0, but came back in the nightcap
with an 8-3 victory. The Spartans scored in five
of the six innings in game one and pounded out 14 hits. Kelli Collinsworth

the Tigers' only two hits off of Khara Hamilton who blanked DePauw for the second time this season.

The split moved the Tigers' record to 14-7 overall and 7-5 in the ICAC. Manchester is now 14-10 overall and 8-2 in conference play.
Game two saw the teams battle through four scoreless innings before the Ravens plated a run in the fifth on Mary Cain's single on the way to a 7-2 win in the nightcap. After the first batter was retired in the top of the sixth, the next two reached on errors to start the rally. Shannon Bradley delivered a two-run single and Amie Flowers a three-run homer to put the game away.
The Tigers scored twice in the bottom of the sixth on Susie Cartwright's single and Leslie Oesterle's sacrifice fly. Kim Hauber went two-for three in the loss. Tiger starter Michelle Adcock allowed all seven runs, but only one was earned.
DePauw fell to 13-6 overall and 6-4 in the ICAC and Anderson moved to 16-10 and 7-3. The Tigers host Manchester on Sunday at 1 p.m.
