Six Tigers named to all-SCAC squad
Six DePauw players have earned spots on the all-SCAC team led by sophomores Darcy Vannatta and Keri Shake. Vannatta was named the league's Pitcher of the Year for the second straight year, while Shake, a sophomore catcher, shared MVP honors with Corie Byers of Sewanee. Vannatta led the SCAC in wins with 15 and in strikeouts per seven innings with 5.83 and was second in ERA at 2.72. Shake batted .369 this season. Other Tigers named to the all-SCAC team included senior outfielder Michelle Adcock, junior outfielder Leslie Oesterle, freshman designated hitter Tiffany White and sophomore pitcher Nicole Johnson.

Tigers extend school-record win total to 25 with doubleheader sweep at Franklin
The Tigers swept a doubleheader from Franklin by scores of 5-1 and 8-0 to improve to 25-14-1 and extend their school-record win total. Darcy Vannatta tossed a three-hitter for her 15th win of the season and Michelle Adcock added three hits. Tiffany White drove in three runs in the win. Nicole Johnson pitched the shutout in the second game as she won for the 10th time. Andrea Clark and Leslie Oesterle each had a pair of hits and Oesterle drove in three runs. Three Tigers named to SCAC all-tournament team
The runner-up Tigers placed three players on the 11-player all-tournament team as catcher Keri Shake, outfielder Michelle Adcock and pticher Darcy Vannatta earned spots on the squad.

Tigers fall to Trinity in SCAC Championship
Trinity jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second and added two in the third and one in the fourth to take their second consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship. Box Score

DePauw defeats Centre and Rhodes to advance to SCAC Championship against Trinity
The Tigers defeated Centre 16-6 and Rhodes 6-5 in the SCAC Championship at Rhodes College to advance to a Sunday showdown with Trinity. DePauw must defeat Trinity twice to win the SCAC title. The Tigers jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first three innings against Centre before the Colonels closed the gap to 9-6. The Tigers then rallied with seven in the fifth to end the game. Tigers fall to Rhodes in SCAC Championship first game; face Centre in double-elimination tournament
The Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third before Rhodes battled back with two in the fourth. The Tigers made it 4-2 in the fifth with a single run, but Rhodes scored twice in the sixth with a pair. The game went into extra innings and the international tie-breaker came into play in the 10th. Rhodes scored once in the top of the 10th and the Tigers were unable push home a run from third with one out in their half of the inning. DePauw plays Centre at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Box Score

Vannatta earns SCAC Pitcher of the Week honor for the fifth time
Sophomore pitcher Darcy Vannatta was named the SCAC Pitcher of the Week for the sixth time this season after posting a 2-1 record last week with a 2.21 ERA. She struck out 26 in the three games including a school-record 13 against Centre. Vannatta currently leads the SCAC in wins, winning percentage, strikeouts/seven innings and is second in ERA.

DePauw finishes SCAC play at 18-0 with sweep against Centre; SCAC Championship begins Friday
The Tigers finished SCAC play with a perfect 18-0 record after a doubleheader sweep over visiting Centre by scores of 9-1 and 17-3. The Tigers scored eight times in the bottom of the sixth in the opener to break open a 1-1 tie and end the game. Tiffany White collected three hits and drove in three for the Tigers, while Darcy Vannatta struck out a school-record 13 batters on the way to her 13th win against just five losses. Game one box | In the nightcap, played under a steady rain, the Tigers opened with nine runs in the first on the way to the win. Tigers comes from behind twice to defeat Engineers
DePauw fell behind 3-0 after one-half inning on a brutally cold spring day before scoring once in the first and twice in the third. Rose-Hulman scored two times in the fourth to regain the lead before the host Tigers added one in the fourth, two in the fifth and three in the sixth for the victory. The win lifted the Tigers' record to 19-12-1 overall and 16-0 in SCAC play. DePauw wraps up SCAC regular season play on Sunday with a home doubleheader against Centre.  Box score

Tigers drop doubleheader at Anderson
DePauw dropped a doubleheader at Anderson by scores of 3-1 and 4-3 to fall to 18-12-1 on the season. Anderson scored two unearned runs in the third inning of the first game and never trailed. DePauw held a 2-1 edge in the nightcap before the Ravens strung together five straight hits to take a 4-2 lead. Game one box | Game two box

Vannatta named co-SCAC Pitcher of the Week
Sophomore pitcher Darcy Vannatta was named the SCAC Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this season as she shared the honor with Trinity's Rebecca Sanders for games from April 10-April 16. Vannatta won twice over Sewanee last week as she struck out 14 batters in 14 innings and allowed just one earned run and five hits. Vannatta currently leads the conference in winning percentage (.733/11-4) and strikeouts per seven innings (5.67) and is second in ERA at 2.73.

DePauw defeats Sewanee to improve to 18-10-1 overall and 15-0 in the SCAC
Five Tigers collected two hits each and Darcy Vannatta allowed just two hits and no unearned runs in seven innings to lead DePauw to a 9-2 home win. Nicole Johnson drove in three runs for the Tigers. Box score

Tigers remain unbeaten in SCAC play with sweep of Sewanee
DePauw improved to 17-10-1 overall and remained unbeaten in SCAC play as they swept a doubleheader from visiting Sewanee by scores of 3-2 and 11-6. Sewanee scored twice in the first inning of game one, but the Tigers rallied with one in the first and two in the fifth for the win. Darcy Vannatta picked up her 10th win against just four losses and allowed just one earned run in seven innings while striking out eight. Game one box score

In the nightcap, Sewanee took an early 1-0 lead in the first, but the Tigers came back with seven in the second and two in the third to take control. Chanda Najdek and Lauri Kinkel each had two hits as 10 different DePauw players collected at least one hit. Nicole Johnson earned the pitching win by allowing just two earned runs in seven innings. Tigers clinch SCAC East Title with 5-1 win over Rose-Hulman
The Tigers earned the SCAC East Division title with a 5-1 win over Rose-Hulman. Nicole Johnson picked up her sixth win of the season after allowing just one unearned run in seven innings, while Lyndi Chard, Keri Shake, Tiffany White and Lauri Kinkel each picked up two hits. Vannatta named SCAC Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season
Sophomore pitcher Darcy Vannatta was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season after a week in which she went 2-0 and allowed no earned runs while striking out 22 in 21 innings.

Tigers sweep Centre to clinch at least a share of SCAC East title
The Tigers limited Centre to just five hits in the doubleheader on the way to a sweep by scores of 11-2 and 8-0. Darcy Vannatta struck out 11 in the first game in tossing the two-hitter as she allowed just two unearned runs. Nicole Johnson went two-for-four and drive in four including a pair of a fifth-inning triple that ended the game. Michelle Adcock went two-for-two in the victory as well. Johnson came back in the nightcap to toss a three-hit shutout, while Lindsey Blackman went three-for-three in the win. Game one box | Game two box

Tigers blank Panthers in opener; teams finished tied after nine due to darkness
Darcy Vannatta tossed a three-hit shutout in game one as the Tigers blanked visiting Hanover 1-0. DePauw scored the game's only run in the third as Michelle Adcock scored from on a wild pitch after leading off the inning with a walk. In the nightcap, the Tigers and Panthers battled to a 4-4 tie in nine innings in a game that was suspended due to darkness. Hanover scored twice in the top of the eighth on a Tiger error and a ground out, but DePauw knotted the score in the bottom of the inning on Leslie Oesterlie's run-scoring single to left. Vannatta pitched all nine innings of the second game to total 16 for the day with no earned runs and just six hits allowed. Game one box | Game two box

Tigers face stiff competition at Sun West Tournament; finish 1-9 on trip

Vannata earns SCAC Player-of-the-Week honors for second straight time
Tiger sophomore pitcher Darcy Vannatta was named the SCAC Pitcher of the Week for the second straight time after blanking Rose-Hulman on a four-hitter on March 22 to win for the sixth time against no losses.

Tigers remain unbeaten in SCAC play with sweep over Rose-Hulman
DePauw remained on top of the SCAC Eastern Division standings at 9-0 and improved to 10-1 overall with 4-0 and 12-4 wins in the home openers. Sophomore Vannatta pitched the shutout in the opener in gaining her sixth win in as many decisions. Lauri Kinkel went two-for-three in the win. The Tigers scored five times in the first inning of the nightcap and never trailed from that point in earning the victory. Leslie Oesterle and Jenny Vance each had two hits in the game, while Nicole Johnson earned her fourth win against one loss. Game one box | Game two box 

Johnson, Vannatta take SCAC's top honors
Sophomores Nicole Johnson (Danville, Ind.) and Darcy Vannatta (Carmel, Ind.) were named the SCAC's Offensive and Pitching Players of the Week for games from March 13-19. Johnson went six-for 12 from the plate as the Tigers posted a 3-1 record including two wins over SCAC foe Centre to remain atop the Eastern Division. Johnson also pitched the Tigers to one of their two wins over Centre. Vannatta posted two pitching wins and struck 11, while walking just one in 14 innings of work.

Tigers sweep Centre; third game postponed
The Tigers swept a doubleheader from Centre by scores of 7-3 and 11-1 on Saturday to improve to 8-1 overall and 7-0 in SCAC play. Sunday's game was postponed and will be rescheduled if necessary. game one box | game two box

Tigers split with Manchester
The Tigers defeated host Manchester 5-1 in the first game of a doubleheader, but fell in the nightcap 4-3 to move to 6-1 on the season. game 1 box | game 2 box

Keri Shake

Shake named SCAC Offensive Player of the Week
Sophomore catcher Keri Shake has earned SCAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after collecting eight hits in 14 at-bats in the Tigers' five wins over Rose-Hulman and Sewanee. She hit safely in all five contests and drove in nine runs. 

Tigers take three at Sewanee to move to 5-0 on the season
The Tigers topped Sewanee 9-1 on Saturday and swept a Sunday doubleheader by scores of 16-5 and 11-3 to improve to 5-0 on the season and 5-0 in SCAC play.

Tigers sweep Engineers to open 2000 season
DePauw opened the 2000 season with a doubleheader sweep of Rose-Hulman by scores of 12-1 and 25-2. Leslie Oesterle and Jenny Vance each collected two hits in the first game and Darcy Vannatta picked up the win while allowing just one hit and striking out seven. In the nightcap, Lindsey Blackman pounded out three hits and Sara Endres two while Nicole Johnson picked up the win. Lyndi Chard scored five runs, while Blackman and Vance each drove in four.
