Four Tigers named to all-SCAC
teams
Sophomore outside hitter
Janie Hodgkinson and junior outside hitter Betsy Corbitt
earned all-SCAC first team honors in voting by conference
coaches. Senior middle hitter Allison Lake was a second
team choice and junior setter Kim Miller was named to the
third team.
Tigers fall to Trinity in SCAC
title match
The Tigers opened SCAC
play with a 15-8, 15-8, 15-8 win over Centre and a 6-15,
15-10, 15-6, 15-9 victory against Southwestern before
falling to Trinity 8-15, 2-15, 14-16 in the title match.
The Tigers finished the season with a 31-10 record.
DePauw finishes fourth at Calvin
Midwest Invitational
The Tigers earned a spot
in the semifinals of the Calvin College Midwest
Invitational with a pair of 3-0 wins on Friday, but
dropped both matches on Saturday to finish fourth. In the
semifinals the Tigers lost to Calvin in three games and
then in the consolation match lost to Hope 3-1. Kim
Miller was named to the all-tournament team.
Tigers close home portion of
schedule with 3-1 win over Spalding
The Tigers improved to
26-8 on the season with a 3-1 win over visiting Spalding.
Betsy Corbitt led the Tigers with 17 kills, while Sara
Grunden and Laura Farrell each had 16 digs.

DePauw falls to ninth-ranked Mount
St. Joseph in five games
The Tigers jumped out to a
2-0 lead before dropping the final three to visiting and
ninth-ranked Mount St. Joseph. Janie Hodgkinson recorded
31 digs and 31 kills in the loss.

Tigers win four of five at SCAC
cross-divisional to earn number two seed for November's
SCAC Championships
DePauw defeated
Rhodes
3-1 and
Hendrix
3-0 in opening day
action at the SCAC Cross-Divisional Tournament. In day
two play, the Tigers fell to
Trinity
3-0 before
defeating
Southwestern 3-0. On Sunday, they came back from a
2-0 deficit to defeat
Millsaps 3-2. The 4-1 record leaves the Tigers with a
25-7 overall record and 8-1 in the SCAC. They have earned
the number-two seed for next month's SCAC Championships.
DePauw splits four matches at
Washington University Invitational
The Tigers defeated
Simpson and
Savannah
Art & Design
on Friday and lost to
Washington and
Elmhurst on Saturday at the Washington University
Invitational. Betsy Corbitt and Allison Lake were named
to the all-tournament team.
Tigers finish second at own
invitational
The Tigers won all three
matches in pool play and defeated St. Mary's in the
semifinals, but fell to North Central in the title match.

Tigers rally to beat Spartans in
four games
After dropping the first
game 15-13, the Tigers rallied bakc to win the next three
at Manchester 15-2, 15-7, 15-7. The victory was the
Tigers' 11th straight and lifted their overall record to
14-3.
Lake earns co-Player of the Week
honors in the SCAC
Middle hitter Allison Lake
was named SCAC co-Player of the Week for September 20-26
with Abby Wilson of Trinity. In the four wins at the SCAC
East Division tournament, Lake recorded a .596 attack
percentage and average three kills per game. She also ahd
one solo block and six assists.
DePauw sweeps competition at SCAC
East Tournament
With four wins in as many
matches at the SCAC East Division tournament, the Tigers
improved to 13-3 and 4-0 in conference play. DePauw
defeated Rose-Hulman, Centre and Oglethorpe in three
games and Sewanee in five. Statistics will be posted
later.
Tigers win sixth straight with five-game win over Oakland City
Hodgkinson named co-player of the week in SCAC; Tigers
ranked fifth in South Region
Sophomore outside hitter
Janie Hodgkinson had earned co-Player of the Week honors
from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for the
week of Sept. 6-12. In six matches she averaged 5.22
kills and 5.83 digs per game. She shares the honor with
setter Desiree Pratt of Trinity. The Tigers are ranked
fifth in the South Region in Division III.
Tigers win all five matches to
capture Hanover Invitational championship
DePauw didn't lose a game
in their five matches on the way to winning the Hanover
Invitational. The Tigers defeated Ohio Wesleyan in the
championship match 15-3, 15-2, 15-9 to capture the title.
On Friday, DePauw beat Franklin before closing out pool
play with wins over Wilmington and Ohio Wesleyan on
Saturday. The Tigers then upended Indiana-Southeast in
the semifinals 15-7, 15-11, 15-9. Janie Hodgkinson and
Kimberly Miller were named to the all-tournament team.
DePauw falls at Millikin in four
games
The Tigers fell to 3-3 on
the season with a 3-1 loss at Millikin. Janie Hodgkinson
recorded 21 kills and 20 digs in four games, while Betsy
Corbitt added 10 kills and 17 digs. The Tigers dropped
the first two games by 15-10 and 15-12 scores before
winning the third 15-7. Millikin wrapped up the match
with a 15-8 win in game three.

Tigers Split Four matches at
Thomas More tournament
The Tigers moved to 3-2 on
the season as they split their four matches at the
Skyline Classic at Thomas More College. DePauw opened
with a
3-0 win over Centre before falling to
Ohio
Northern 3-0. On
Sunday the Tigers lost to
Thomas
More 3-0 and
defeated
Averett 3-1.
Tigers Open 1999 Season with Win
over Wilmington
The Tigers wasted little
time in getting the 1999 season off to a good start in
beating
visiting Wilmington 3-0. The Tigers won by scores of 15-6, 15-4,
15-8. Janie Hodgkinson led the Tigers with four aces, six
digs and seven kills in just two games. Betsy Corbitt
added eight kills in three games and Sara Grunden had six
digs in three games. Kimberly Miller paced DePauw with 24
assists.
