Tigers are Too Much for Host Engineers; Start New Win Streak


GAME STATISTICS

 

TERRE HAUTE, IND.-DePauw improved to 12-3 overall and 2-1 in the Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 79-33 win at Rose-Hulman on Saturday. The Engineers fell to 2-11 overall and 0-3 in the ICAC. The Tigers jumped out to a 16-2 lead in the first 6:21 as all five Tiger starters scored in the stretch. DePauw would go on to score just 12 more points the remainder of the half and led 28-11 at the break.

 

A 15-2 run at the beginning of the second half lifted the Tigers to a 43-13 lead with 15:08 left. The Old Gold shot 62 percent in the second half and outscored the hosts 51-22 over the final 20 minutes. For the game DePauw committed just 11 turnovers and outrebounded the Engineers 46-28.

 

Ann Hall led the Tigers with 18 points and Jenn Hein added 10. Susan Bender and Dona Haskett led the way with six boards apiece and Bender had seven assists. In all, 13 Tiger players scored. Amanda Speich led Rose-Hulman with 12 and seven rebounds.

The Tigers travel to St. Mary's on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. game.
