GREENCASTLE, IND. - A large and enthusiastic crowd turned out at Gaumey Neal Fieldhouse to help launch the Tigers' bid for their second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Great expecations are in the air.

Anderson hung close at the game's outset and even led 14-12 with 13:01 left in the first half. Then, Kelly Morrison (So., Huntington North/Warren) came in to scorch the nets on 4-of-5 from three-point range. She ended up with 15 points for the half and a commanding 50-26 lead for the Tigers.

By time they turned the scoreboard off for the evening, DePauw had shot 67 percent from long range (8-of-12). Morrison, who comes off the bench although she is the team's top scorer, finished with 17 points.

She got scoring help from senior Erin Mulford (Versailles/South Ripley) with 17 and freshman Ann Hall (Bourbon, Ind./Triton) with 14. Jenn Hein (Sr., Waterloo, Iowa/West) chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds before she went off with a twisted knee.

DePauw's win set the stage for an intriguing match-up tomorrow (Feb. 28) against Hanover. The Panthers come into the finals 16-9. DePauw is a best-ever 22-3 and on a school record-equaling 11 game win streak. But the records only tell part of the story.

Hanover earned its way to the finals with a 66-52 win against Manchester. The stat that jumps out at you in that game is rebounding: the Panthers had 48, including 27 offensive, compared to 29 total for the Spartans.

Hanover and DePauw split their season series, each winning on the other's home floor. DePauw earned the right to host the conference tournament by virtue of a larger scoring margin in the series, but tough rebounding teams can give the Tigers trouble.

So the severity of Hein's injury is a concern for the DPU faithful.
