Imborek Named SCAC Player of the Week

Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw sophomore guard Katie Imborek (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central) has earned Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for games played between December 20 and January 4.

 

In three DePauw wins, Imborek came off the bench to average 12.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. She hit 15 of 26 field goal attempts as the Tigers defeated Marian, Centre and Sewanee.

 

Imborek scored a career-high 18 points in a 78-65 win at Centre last Saturday and had 16 in Monday's 70-66 victory at Sewanee. In the two conference games she hit 14 of 21 field goals and averaged 3.5 rebounds per game. She also scored six of the Tigers' final 14 points in the win at previously unbeaten Sewanee. For the season she's averaging 8.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game and is shooting 53 percent from the field.

 

The Tigers are 9-2 overall and 4-0 in the SCAC and have won their last five games. With Monday's SCAC victory at Sewanee, the Tigers extended their Division III-leading conference win streak to 40 games (18 in Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference and 22 in SCAC). The 22 straight SCAC victories is a conference record.
