Jackson, Miss. (2-2-03) - DePauw, ranked 18th in Division III, jumped out to an 20-4 lead in the first six minutes and were never threatened on the way to a 62-45 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory at Millsaps.
The Tigers, 16-3 on the season, stayed in second in the SCAC record at 8-1. The win was DePauw's fifth straight and its 11th in the last 12 games. Millsaps fell to 10-8 overall and 3-6 in the SCAC.
Kim Weigle scored eight of the Tigers' first 13 points and DePauw led by as many as 16 in the first half on the way to a 34-19 halftime advantage. The Tigers then scored the first six points of the second half to extend the margin to 21 at 40-19. The Majors got no closer than 15 the rest of the way.
Sarah Zondor paced DePauw with 16 points, while Weigle finished with 14 and Dana Ferguson added 10. Amy Argetsinger grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds to pace the Tigers, while Tria Yoder dished out four assists and recorded two steals.
Juliana Wallace led Millsaps with 11 points. The Tigers held the Majors' Jillian Compton, the second-leading scorer in the SCAC, to an season-low seven points in 36 minutes.
The Tigers held a 38-34 advantage on the boards and committed just nine turnovers for their fourth straight single digit performance.
