Tigers finish second in SCAC after weekend sweep
Home wins over Rhodes and Hendrix
propelled the Tigers to a second place finish in their
first season in the Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference. Overall, the Tigers finished with a 9-9-1
mark and a 6-1-1 record in SCAC play. Seven of the
Tigers' losses came at the hands of teams in this year's
NCAA Division III Championship.
DePauw beat Rhodes on Saturday with Amy
Ferone, Kristi Merrill and Rachel Miller scoring for the
Tigers. On Sunday, the Old Gold topped Hendrix 4-0 with
Kristi Merrill recording a hat trick and Katherine
McCleary adding a goal. McCleary recorded the shutout in
goal in the Rhodes game and shared the shutout with
Merrill in the Hendrix contest.
Tigers sweep weekend SCAC games to improve to 4-1-1
in conference play
Centre scored first against the Tigers
on Saturday, but the Old Gold responded with three
straight goals to win 3-1. Katherine Walch, Christina
Matteucci and Kristi Merrill each scored with Merrill
adding two assists and Lizzie Ephraim one. Centre entered
the game undefeated in SCAC action at 5-0. DePauw
continued on Sunday with a 3-0 blanking of Sewanee.
DePauw goals came from Walch, Amy Ferone and Merrill with
Beth Siedentopf, Ephraim and Naiomi Lundman contributing
assists. The Tigers are now 7-9-1 on the season.
Tigers battle back from 2-0 deficit; tie Pirates
Down 2-0 in the second half, the
women's soccer team battled back with a penalty kick from
Beth Siedentopf with just over 18 minutes left in
regulation and Amy Ferone's header with just 43 seconds
left to knot the score at 2-2 and force the overtime.
Tigers battle hard, but fall to Trinity 1-0
The Tigers gave up an early goal to
host Trinity and couldn't get on the board in a 1-0 SCAC
loss. Trinity outshot DePauw 13-3 in the contest and
Katherine McCleary recorded eight saves in goal. The
Tigers, 5-9 overall and 2-1 in the SCAC, travel to
Southwestern for a Sunday game.
Tigers battle 14th-ranked Crusaders, but fall in
overtime
Nancy Clutter's goal with an assist
from Amy Ferone tied the Tigers game with Wheaton at 1-1
at the 71:12 mark, but with just 3:40 left in the second
overtime Wheaton's Amber Wiersma won the game for her
team with her second unassisted goal in the contest. The
14th-ranked Crusaders outshot the Tigers 11-9. Katherine
McCleary recorded six saves for the 5-8 Tigers.
Two second-half goals give Tigers 2-0 win over Austin
Kristi Merrill and Amy Ferone each
scored second half goals to propel DePauw to a 2-0 win
over visiting Austin College. Nancy Clutter assisted on
both scores. The Tigers, 5-7 on the season, host Wheaton
on Monday.
Tigers fall at Wilmington 3-0
The Tigers saw their three-game win streak come to an
end as they fell by a 3-0 score on a rain-soaked field at
Wilmington. The Tigers are now 4-7 on the season and host
Austin on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Tigers roll to 8-0 win over Millsaps; move to 2-0 in
SCAC
Katherine Walch and Renae Rogers each scored twice and
Kristi Merrill added one goal and two assists to lead the
Old Gold to an 8-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference win over Millsaps. The Tigers, in posting
their third consecutive shutout, improved to 2-0 in the

Tigers win
second straight with 2-0 SCAC win over Oglethorpe
Nancy Clutter and Kristi Merrill each scored for the
Tigers and Katherine McCleary recorded her second shutout
in goal as DePauw opened SCAC play with a 2-0 win over
visiting Oglethorpe. DePauw, 3-6 and 1-0, outshot
Oglethorpe 28-3.
DePauw picks up second win on Cordes' OT goal and
McCleary's shutout
Laura Cordes broke a 0-0 tie two minutes into overtime
as the Tigers snapped a six-game losing streak with a 1-0
win at Earlham. Katherine McCleary recorded her first
career shutout in just her third match in goal.
Tigers fall to 1-6 with loss to 12th-ranked Hornets
DePauw fell behind 2-0 in the first half and couldn't
convert three one-on-one situations and lost to
12th-ranked Kalamazoo, 3-0. The Tigers were shut out for
the third straight game and the fifth time this season.
Tigers fall to 1-5 with 2-0 loss at Chicago
The Tigers fell for the fifth straight time on
Wednesday as they dropped a 2-0 decision at the
University of Chicago. The host Maroons scored both goals
in the first half and within five minutes of each other.
The Tigers entertain Kalamazoo Saturday at 10 a.m.
