Tigers ranked 22nd in final Division III poll
DePauw finished the 2000-01 season ranked 22nd in the final NCAA
Division III poll and were ranked sixth in the Central Region.
Individually, Haley Heathman finished the year as the 20th ranked
singles player.

Heathman knocks off top seed in NCAA Championship; falls in second round
Sophomore Haley Heathman began play at the NCAA Division III
Championships at Trinity University in San Antonio with a 6-4, 7-5 win over number-one seed Mary Ellen Gordon
of Emory University. She advanced to play Rebecca Dutton of Claremont
Mudd-Scripps and lost in the second round 6-3, 6-2. She finished the
season with a 22-6 singles record.
Tigers fall in NCAA first round, 5-4
DePauw's rally in singles play fell short in a 5-4 loss to
Wisconsin-La Crosse in the NCAA Division III Central Region first round
match at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. The Tigers
trailed 2-1 after doubles play and were behind 4-2 before tying it up
with a pair of three-set wins at number two and three singles. They then
dropped a three-setter at number six singles. DePauw ends the season with a 19-7 record.

DePauw returns to NCAA Championship
The Tigers have earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Championships
and open play on Saturday, May 12, against Wisconsin-LaCrosse at
Gustavus Adolphus College. The winner of that match takes on Gustavus on
Sunday. DePauw is making its second appearance after earning a spot last
year.

Tigers seeded fourth for SCAC Championships
DePauw earned the number four seed for the SCAC Championships and
will open play on Friday, April 27 at 11 a.m. against Southwestern
University at South Putnam High School.

The Tigers defeated Wheaton 6-3 and St. Mary's (Ind.) 6-3 to improve

The Tigers topped Wisconsin-Oshkosh 5-1 to improve to 16-4 on the
season and finish ninth at the Midwest Invitational.

DePauw fell to the University of St. Thomas by a 6-3 score in the
first round of the regional tournament in Madison, Wis., but rebounded
to take a 6-0 win over St. Mary's (Ind.). The Tigers
entered the tournament seeded eighth.

DePauw captures GLCA title
The Tigers won all four matches at the Great Lakes Colleges
Association Championships hosted by Hope College and captured the team
championship. DePauw opened with a
6-3 win over Denison followed by a
5-4 victory over sixth-ranked Kenyon. On Saturday, they
defeated Oberlin 5-2 and
Wooster 8-1. The weekend sweep lifts DePauw's record to 14-3.

The Tigers won in straight sets in a 9-0 victory over visiting Rose-Hulman.
With the victory the Tigers improve to 10-3 on the season.

9-0 in Hilton Head to conclude their spring trip and improve their
record to 9-3. The match with Colby was cold off due to weather and will
not be rescheduled.

The Tigers defeated Carnegie Mellon 9-0 and Wisconsin-Whitewater 8-1
in matches played at Hilton Head Island, S.C. The wins lifted the

The Tigers fell to 6-3 on the season after dropping a 9-0 decision
at seventh-ranked Emory.

Wittenberg. The win was the Tigers' sixth this season against just two

The Tigers defeated the University of Chicago by a 9-0 score before
falling to sixth-ranked Kenyon College 5-3. The split leaves the Tigers with a 4-2
ark for the season.

Tigers open spring season with two wins
DePauw improved to 3-1 for the year with a 9-0 win over Hope and a
7-2 triumph over Southern Indiana. The matches were the first of the

DePauw players fare
well at ITA Regional
Eight individuals and four doubles teams competed at the
Intercollegiate Tennis Association Tournament at Wittenberg University.
Leslie Nolan, seeded eighth in the singles tournament, advanced to the
quarterfinals before falling to the number one seed and eventual
champion. Katie Hunt won her first-round match with Katherine Nicolson
and Mary Kay Huse each advancing to the round of 16. In doubles play,
Nolan and Nicolson advanced to the semifinals before losing in a
third-set tiebreaker.

The Tigers swept all three doubles and took five of six singles to
take an 8-1 win over visiting Hanover.

Haley Heathman picked up a victory at number one singles for DePauw's
lone point in a 6-1 loss at Division I Youngstown State. Heathman
defeated Abby Vens in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.

Invitational
The Tigers won all 18
singles and doubles matches to win the Franklin College Invitational.
DePauw finished with 36 points ahead of Franklin with 23, Rose-Hulman
with 17 and Sinclair with 14.
Riggle Named Head Coach
Scott Riggle has been named
women's tennis coach at DePauw University, Director of Athletics Page
Cotton announced today. Riggle replaces Beth Todd who resigned after two
years as head coach including this season's first-ever appearance in
the NCAA Division III Championships.
