DePauw to host NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships

 

Shaffer finishes ninth in 1500 at NCAA Championships
Freshman Natalie Shaffer finished ninth in the 1500-meter run in a time of 4:43.50 at the NCAA Division III Championships at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. In Thursday's trials, she ran the sixth-fastest time in 4:42.45. Please visit the host site

 

Shaffer to represent DePauw at NCAA Division III Championships
Freshman Natalie Shaffer will compete in the NCAA Division III Championships at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. Shaffer enters the national meet with the fourth-fastest time in the 1500-meter run. Her time of 4:37.97 at the Butler Twilight on May 4 set a DePauw record. Prelims of the 1500 are scheduled for 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 23 with finals slated for Saturday, May 25 at 1:50 p.m. Please visit the host site

 

Tigers compete at  Billy Hayes Invitational
Natalie Shaffer finished sixth in the 1,500 meters in 4:39.87 and 18th in the 800 meters in 2:21.17 at the Billy Hayes Invitational at Indiana University. Beth Kline finished eighth in the discus with a throw of 39.30 meters.

 

Shaffer improves qualifying time in 1500
Natalie Shaffer improved upon her NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 1,500 meters by finishing sixth at the Butler Twilight in a school-record time of 4:37.97. Complete results

 

Tigers finish second at SCAC Championships
The Tigers had their two-year streak of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championships snapped by Rhodes College. The Lynx totaled 253 points to DePauw's 157 and Trinity was third with 142.5 points. Story with link to results

 

DePauw in second after first day of SCAC Championships
The Tigers totaled 34 points and are in second behind Rhodes' 63 points after the first of two days at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. Kiley McQuinn and Debbie Bushouse finished first and second, respectively, in the long jump, while Catherine Smith won the shot put and Beth Kline finished third to earn all-SCAC honors. Pair of Tigers qualify provisionally for NCAA Championships
Catherine Smith and Natalie Shaffer notched NCAA provisional qualifying performances at the Butler University Indy Relays. Smith extended her discus school record with a throw of 41.56 meters, while Shaffer ran the 1,500 meters in 4:43.00. Results

 

Tigers finish fifth at Little State Championships
DePauw finished fifth at the Little State Championships which it hosted and were just 6.5 points out of third. Top performances turned in by the Tigers included Catherine Smith's first-place in the discus (39.55 meters) and Kiley McQuinn's second-place showing in the 400 meters (59.71 seconds). DePauw places second at quad
DePauw totaled 154 points to finish second behind Indiana Wesleyan's 236 at the DePauw Quad. Valparaiso and Butler each finished with 142 points.

 

Tigers finish sixth at Gerry England Classic
DePauw finished sixth at the Gerry England Classic and were led by Catherine Smith's school-record discus throw of 132-5.75. She finished third in the event. Results

DePauw wins DePauw/SCAC Indoor Invitational
The Tigers totaled 149 points to win the DePauw/SCAC Indoor Invitational at the Tennis and Track Center. Rhodes was second with 124 points. Complete Results

 

Tigers finish third at DePauw Indoor Invitational
The Tigers totaled 75 points to finish third at the DePauw Indoor Invitational behind Indiana Wesleyan's 186.5 and Emory's 133. Kristen Mellencamp picked up a second-place finish in the 600 meters in 1:47.38 as did Catherine Smith in the shot put with a throw of 10.77 meters. The Tigers' 4x200 relay placed second in 1:51.95. DePauw places fifth at Tiger Invitational
