Matt Pustay begins his third season at his alma mater as an assistant baseball coach and first as recruiting coordinator.

In his time on the DePauw baseball staff, Pustay has coached the catchers and assisted with the tutelage of the infield positions. Since his return to Greencastle, the Tigers have amassed a 53-35 record (through the 2012 season) and were ranked as high as 11th in the 2012 campaign.

Prior to coming to DePauw, Pustay was a volunteer assistant baseball coach at Capital University (Ohio) where he was in charge of coaching the catchers and was the assistant hitting coach. Additionally, he was also the assistant baseball and first base coach for the Granville American Legion baseball squad.

Pustay gave his time to help tutor athletes at the University of Kentucky Baseball Camp and the DeMarini Top-96 Baseball Camp as an instructor during the summer months.

In his time on the diamond at DePauw, Pustay earned three letters and was named a team captain during the 2009 season. He received the ‘Palm-Up Award’ on three occasions, an award bestowed upon the most selfless teammate.

A 2009 DePauw graduate and member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity, Pustay is currently pursuing his master’s degree in communication from Indiana State University.
