Tigers picked second in SCAC East

With 19 of 24 lettermen returning from last year's 25-19 team that finished third at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship, the DePauw baseball team is picked to finish second in the conference's East Division.
Rose-Hulman was the top pick in the division with 23 total points and three first-place votes, while the Tigers picked up 22 points and two first-place votes. Sewanee was third with 12 points, while Oglethorpe totaled 11 and Centre seven in voting by the division's five head coaches. Trinity was the top pick in the West Division and was the top pick to win the overall conference championship.
DePauw finished third in last year's East Division standings, but placed third at the SCAC Championship. The complete release is available here.
The Tigers open the 2004 season on Tuesday, February 24, when they travel to Indiana University for a 3 p.m. single, nine-inning game.
