Tiger Nine Picked Second in SCAC East

kleine22806.jpgFebruary 21, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - Coming off a 25-17 record and an 11-5 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference mark, the Tigers are picked to finish second in the SCAC Eastern Division according to a preseason poll of the conference's head coaches.

DePauw totaled 29 points and trails Rhodes with 36 points and all six first-place votes. Centre and Oglethorpe were selected in a tie for third, while Birmingham-Southern was picked fifth and Sewanee sixth.

The Tigers finished second to Rhodes in the SCAC East last season with an 11-5 SCAC record. Overall, Rhodes was selected to win the SCAC title.

DePauw opens the 2008 season on Sunday, February 24, against Transylvania. The 1 p.m. doubleheader will be played at Louisville's St.Xavier High School.
