Alland and Kleine Named to ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Team

May 27, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw seniors Jeremy Alland and Matt Kleine have been named to the ESPN the Magazine Baseball Academic All-District Five Third Team.

Alland_Jeremy_2008_Baseball.jpgAlland (pictured left), a biochemistry major with a 3.35 cumulative grade point average at the time of the selection, was an honorable mention Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference selection this year after finishing with a 5-2 record and a 2.56 earned run average.

Kleine_Matt_2008_Baseball.jpgKleine (pictured right), a communication major with a 3.48 cumulative grade point average, was a first team all-SCAC choice this year and hit .345 with a team-high 48 runs batted in. He scored 40 runs and shared the team lead with 13 doubles. Kleine earned a spot on this year's SCAC all-tournament team.

The Academic All-District team is part of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America program and the team is selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).  Nominees must have a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key reserve.
