Moore Picks Up Season's Third SCAC Weekly Award

mooreisu1220083.jpgFebruary 10, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. —  After leading the Tigers to a weekend sweep at Birmingham-Southern and Rhodes, DePauw senior guard Mike Moore was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season and sixth in his career.

Moore scored 29 in a 75-61 victory over Birmingham-Southern as he hit 6-of-7 from three-point range. He then added 23 in the Tigers' 82-63 win at Rhodes.

For the week, Moore averaged 26.0 points per game and shot 54.8 percent from the field (17-31). He knocked down 10-of-18 of his three-point shots for 55.6 percent.

Moore is second in the SCAC this season with 20.0 points per game and shares the conference lead with 3.2 three-pointers made per game. He also is fourth in both three-point and free throw percentage.

The Elkhart, Ind., resident ranks sixth in DePauw history with 1, 419 career points. His 530 assists are the most in SCAC history and are second in DePauw history.

DePauw is 17-5 overall and shares the SCAC Eastern Division lead with Centre as both have 9-2 conference records.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, February 14, when they travel to Centre for a 1 p.m. game which can be heard on with WGRE.
