Tiger Men Advance to Defiance Title Game with Win over Adrian

December 29, 2009, Defiance, Ohio — DePauw improved to 8-2 on the season and advanced to the title game of the Defiance College Purple and Gold Financial Tournament following a 58-46 win over Adrian. The Knights dropped to 4-5 with the loss.
The Tigers face host Defiance in tomorrow's 7 p.m. championship game after the Yellow Jackets topped OSU-Lima by a 114-51 score.
DePauw took a 21-20 lead into the intermission and still held a three-point lead at 40-37 with just under six minutes remaining before scoring seven straight to extend the margin to 47-37 with 3:18 left. Adrian got no closer than seven the rest of the way.
Sean Haseley led the Tigers with 15 points, while Tony James added 14 and a game-high five assists. Steve Lemasters followed with 11 points, while Ryan Sever grabbed seven rebounds.
Jovon Mosley paced Adrian with 16 points with Matt Wayne adding 10 along with a game-high 10 rebounds.
The Tigers shot just 36.7 percent from the field to Adrian's 35.8 percent, but DePauw hit 17-of-23 from the free throw line to the Knights' 6-of-13.
