Brett Dietz joined the DePauw staff during the 2010 season as a part-time receivers coach and was hired full time as the quarterbacks and receivers coach for the 2011 season.


Dietz earned a bachelor of arts degree from Hanover College while majoring in  communication. He was a four-sport letterman and was named Hanover’s most outstanding athlete in his senior season.

As the Panthers' quarterback, Dietz led Division III in total offense (380.5 yards/game) during the 2003 season. He set Hanover single-season records for pass completions (314) and attempts (497).

After graduation, Dietz competed in the European Football League for the Turku Trojans of Finland where he led his team to an 11-1 record and into the championship game.

He then moved on to play one season each for the Cincinnati Marshals of the National Indoor Football League and the Louisville Fire of Arena Football League 2.

He then signed with the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League and earned co-Rookie of the Year honors after leading the team to an 8-2 record. In 2010, Dietz led the Storm to ArenaBowl XXIII where he threw for 306 yards and four touchdowns in a 69-57 loss to Spokane.

During his off seasons, Dietz coached at both the college and high school level. He served as an assistant high school coach at three different schools. He coached the defensive backs at Marian (Ind.) College in their 2007 inaugural season.
