Eric Rausch has returned to his alma mater as running backs coach after a successful three-year run at North Park University (Chicago, Ill.).

In his time at North Park, Rausch served as the co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach, seeing drastic improvement in just his second season. Under his tutelage, the defensive squad bettered their yards allowed by over 100 yards per game, their points allowed per game by over 14 and rushing yards per game by over 70.

Rausch’s duties at North Park included overseeing all aspects of video as the video coordinator, data entry, defensive breakdowns, coordination of food and travel and the coordination of academic support programs as the academic coordinator.

Before his stint in Chicago, Rausch was a defensive line coach at Manchester College (now Manchester University). While in North Manchester, Ind., the defensive unit improved from seventh in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in total defense in 2007 to second in 2008. The rushing defense also improved from fifth in 2007 to third in 2008.

Rausch served as a volunteer assistant at DePauw for the 2006 season where his responsibilities included breaking down film, coaching the defensive linemen and linebackers, leading the offensive scout team and assisting with on-campus recruiting days.

In addition to his coaching experience at the collegiate level, Rausch also served a football internship with the Indiana Hoosiers of the Big Ten Conference, worked the Bishop-Dullaghan Lineman Camp and lectured about the ‘stack’ defense at an Indiana Football Coaches Association regional meeting.

In his playing days in Greencastle (Ind.), Rausch was a three-year letterwinner on the Tigers football squad and a key cog for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) co-champions in 2005. Individually, he racked up an all-SCAC honorable mention accolade and a team defensive player of the week award for his play against the University of the South – Sewanee.

A 2006 graduate of DePauw University, Rausch majored in is currently pursuing his master’s degree from North Park University (Chicago, Ill.) in higher education administration.
