Shephard named SCAC Offensive Player of the Week

shephard3.jpgDePauw junior wide receiver Jamarcus Shephard has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Tigers' 39-20 win at 15th-ranked Hanover.

 

Shephard opened the game with an 88-yard kickoff return that led to DePauw's first touchdown just 30 seconds into the game. Later in the first quarter he tossed a 75-yard scoring pass to sophomore Adam Sisson.

 

He carried the ball one time for six yards, caught three passes for 52 yards, returned two kickoffs for a total of 95 yards and tossed the 75-yard scoring pass.

 

Shephard leads the SCAC in kickoff return average at 40.2 yards per return and is third in all-purpose yards with 141.0 per contest. He also ranks ninth with 52.7 receiving yards per game.
