Shephard named to D3football.com Team of the Week

shephardret.jpgDePauw junior wide receiver Jamarcus Shephard (Fort Wayne/Northrop) has been selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week for his performance in the Tigers' 55-34 win over Millsaps.

Shephard totaled 330 all-purpose yards and returned a school and SCAC-record two kickoffs for touchdowns. The two returns for scores also tied the NCAA Division III single-game record. He also caught 11 passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns to total four for the game to tie the DePauw single-game touchdown mark.

For the season, Shephard leads the SCAC and all of NCAA football with a 47.5-yard average on 10 returns. He also leads the SCAC in receiving yards per game (81.6) and is second in receptions per game (6.7), total receptions (47) and all-purpose yards (154.9).

The honor is his second this season and the third in the last two years. Shephard was named the SCAC Player of the Week earlier this year and was featured in Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd section.

 

Earlier this month the DePauw starting offensive line was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week as well.
