December 21, 2003
DePauw junior Jamarcus Shephard, second in NCAA Division III kickoff return average this season, earned his fifth all-America honor with a selection to the D3football.com team. Shephard was a first team selection.
A Fort Wayne Northrop High School graduate, Shephard averaged 34.7 yards on 19 returns this season, including two that went for touchdowns. He already has a DePauw record three returns for TDs for his career. Shephard also led the Tigers with 69 catches for 783 yards and was named the team's MVP and offensive player of the year as well as a first team all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference choice and the SCAC Special Teams Player of the Year.
Earlier this week, he was named a first team Division III all-American by the American Football Coaches Association and college sports information directors and was a second team selection by Football Gazette and was named to the Associated Press Little All-America Second Team.
