Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw opens its 117th season of intercollegiate football on Saturday, September 4, when it travels to Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn., for a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game. Saturday also marks the debut of Bill Lynch who coaches his first game from the DePauw sidelines. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m. with the live WGRE broadcast available here.
Lynch, who is in his first year with the Tigers, begins his 14th season as a head coach with previous stints at Butler and Ball State and a 73-65-3 overall record.
DePauw, picked to finish second in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference race, hold a 4-2 series edge over Rhodes including wins in each of the last three contests. The Tigers won last year's season-opener in Greencastle by a 28-26 score on Ben Murray's 20-yard field goal with 21 seconds left.
