Hertel named to D3football.com Team of the Week

1106042.jpgOctober 19, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw senior defensive end Dustin Hertel has been selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week for his performance in DePauw's 7-3 win over Rhodes. Earlier this week he was chosen as Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference co-Defensive Player of the Week.

Hertel had 12 total tackles (10 solo), including three tackles for losses of 18 yards and a sack for nine yards in the Tigers' win. He also had a quarterback hurry that led to an interception and intercepted the first pass of his career.

The DePauw defense held Rhodes to just 148 yards of total offense (2.3 yards per play) and a pass efficiency rating of 39.18.

For the season, Hertel has 26 tackles and two sacks and his 7.5 tackles for loss is third-best in the SCAC.

DePauw, 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the SCAC, hosts Millsaps on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
