May 9, 2005, Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. - The 25th-ranked DePauw men's golf team shot a first-round 314 and are in 13th place at the NCAA Division III Championships at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort.
Brian Gooch and Jay Burkhardt each shot a two-over 74 to tie for 10th in the four-round tournament. Rob Harper followed with an 81, while Josh Abrams shot an 85 and Sean Toddy added an 89.
Nebraska Wesleyan leads the team competition with a 300, while Pete Weber of Loras College is the individual leader with a 68.
